contract cancellation nightmare

I have been battling to get a mobile phone contract cancelled for 8 months. Every time I make a follow up I get an excuse that they tried to contact me to conclude the cancellation however I was not reachable. \Really\"? In the day and age of voice mail, sms, and email I was unreachable? On top of that they have suspended my account and they still send me monthly bills. I can't use a service but I must pay for it, does that make any sense? Why doesn't the contract just die a natural death when it reaches the end period of 24 months? This company must stick to land lines! I don't even get reception from my home. I must go to the city to use the phone. "
