Contract cancellation and debit order nightmares

On the 21st March 2018 I gave Telkom 1 months notice to cancel my 24 month contract, due to end on 30th April 2018. I have spoken to over 20 agents telephonically, on chat and on email and NOBODY gets back to me.

I was promised prompt feedback and a response in 24 hours yet every single agent that I have dealt with including those Telkom multimedia representatives that respond on Hello Peter start ignoring my comments and the social media reference numbers are useless as their online chat support doesn't recognise these reference numbers.

I have been trying for 5 months to cancel my contract, the agents at the call center make empty promises to get me off the line, some even put their receiver on the side and start chatting in the background, completely ignoring me. The agents on the online chat continuously say they will get back to me and that they will escalate my query but that's the last I hear of them. The emails are the worse, I get one reply from a difference agent everytime and never hear from them again. It's gone so bad that I don't get replies anymore on their emails. On my last telecommunications from them, they couldn't figure out what happened with the case number they provided to me in the first place and simply put the phone on the side and left it there, I guess they lost their handset as well.

It's been 5 months, I actually considered getting another contract if there was a better deal in the future but after all this drama I really don't want anything to do with Telkom, they burnt their bridges with me. It's gone so bad that they handed me over to Nudebt who is equally as *********** as they fail to acknowledge proof of cancellation and continue to try debit my account. I even threatened legal action and sent numerous messages to cancel debit orders, they don't listen and simply don't care.

Telkom's customer care support is like talking to a brick wall, even my lawyers get no reply from them. The latest tactic is their R8.50 debit orders every 5 days to try see how much I have in my account after trying to deduct lump sums unsuccessfully. I have told them through online chat and email many times to stop meddling with my bank account but till this day they still doing unauthorised debit orders.

The mounting complaints on Hello Peter speak for themselves and I have already reported this matter to the Ombudsman. This time of treatment is surely *******.
