Continued interruption of service and billing quer

I have had issues with my adsl line being disconnected over various periods [again for the last 5 days, so I am using a ****le...]
I was informed on querying my latest bill, which jumped from an average of around R635.00 to R1180.00, that the credits which had been passed to me had been reversed, as Telkom's records show that I had made calls within the period. Yes, I did sometimes have a phone line, but not an adsl connection!
So even though I have had almost a month of no real service, Telkom wants to bill me an average of over R700 pm - or nearly R900 pm, considering I have only had three months worth of service this year.
A lady phoned and tried to explain that Telkom had graciously made my account paid up at one stage, as a gesture of goodwill, to keep me connected, but on seeing that I had made calls during the period, the credits were reversed. Shoddy reasoning, as far as I'm concerned.
I don't expect to be contactable any time soon by landline, as this morning my phone just makes a horrible mechanical noise [again].
I appreciate your help in this regard, and hopefully this will escalate correctly - not as it does[n't] via Telkoms sms service or website
