Concern:Incompetant staff working with consumers confidential documents and legally binding contracts

Firstly let me begin by telling you that I visited 3 TElkom branches on a single day - hearing from each that their is no stock of laptops and they can not confirm when stock will arrive. Being that I urgently needed to backup docs on new laptop , before my current work laptop crashed - I rushed to the 4th store being Gateway Theathre of Shopping . I was assisted by an agent who firstly confirmed what was in stock and the contract rates ,and I proceeded to complete 2 business applications at a go - whilst explaining that I needed the laptop urgently. He scanned to available tablet and laptop to my application and advised that this will be kept away for me.I requested a copy of the applications as to verify all the terms are as he advised , as the deal I was particulary wearly about was the laptop deal as it was not advertised anywhere in the brochures and was according to him the last Lenova I5 at R359 on a 24 month contract......he said I could not get a copy. I was told that it would take 5 days and he would call me.I heard from no one and the they do not answer client calls . My only avenue was calling the call centre who could not help at all as I was not given a reference from the store. On the 2/02 we went through to the store- and was then told by the agent that both have been approved but the laptop is not registered on the system yet so take the tablet and he would call the next day to collect the laptop. No call came, and on Monday we made the long drive from Durban south to Durban North yet again........when we arrived at the store, to our dismay the agent was off ill.Venecia Mkiza was called to assist, she seemed not to be able to find any information on this order at all.She had to resort to calling the agent at his home to which he confirmed that the laptop was approved.Venecia could not find the laptop and now said that it is not in stock- I was infuriated at this stage and explained that he had put my laptop one side and it was the last I5 in stock. She called her mananger Imtiaz Khan who really didnt seem to care that as business owners we are now wasting valuable time trying to explain to TElkom staff what their computers should be able to indicate. They sugested that I fill out a new application which I expressed I was not happy to duplicate, and that the agent clearly told me the laptop was approved so I can not simply redo this.Their last suggestion was that I would have to wait on the original agents return to work....this is unacceptable from a national company such as Telkom , where consumers are left dependent on a single staff member-where are the internal procedures , the processes to ensure client security , computer notes ??? Left at the mercy of this organisation I had no choice and asked Venecia and her manager to please make sure the agent contacts me on his return.I have friends working in the mall and asked someone to go each day for a week to check if the agent is back ....finaly today the 13/02 my friend managed to find the agent at work and discuss this with them. The agent said he will call me immediately as the laptop is ready for collection...but now the moden is not in stock. No call received but I headed down to the mall in anycase - when I arrived I was told that this gentleman had yet again come to work but left early ( note: without having the courtesy to call me / nor did the manager enforce that he called me before leaving) .Again I was left with Venecia dumb founded facial expression - and eventually confirmed that this application was only sent through today for the first time. My question to her was "if I completed and dated an application on the 24/01, how was an application sent through today- was this document jippo'ed?" - no answer . My next question was "if I had completed 2 applications simultaneously then I expected 2 approvals or 2 rejections simultaneously - or if one was approved then I would of chosen what is most needed............how can your agent give us the tablet and not know if the laptop is approved - if the laptop is now declined , I will not want this tablet that your agent made us sign and collect under false advices - is TElkom going to take it back even though it has been opened and used now ? " - she had no answer. I requested the manager - The manager showed no remorse or concern with our complaints or frustration and made us feel as if we were babbling on . He again took no responsibility of the query and told Venecia to call someone in creditors ....they tried once, no one answered ,and then there was nothing more they could do!I asked the manager for an email address as I would like to send a written complaint - he refused to disclose this and hence I have resorted to Hellopeter in the hope that someone senior at TElkom can take ownership of this query.

I would like someone at Telkom to firstly try and get my laptop application processed and confirm the terms of these both contracts are as explained by the sales agent as I at this stage feel everyone in that store is up to nonsense , and secondly if it is rejected - please advise how do we return this Tablet and then re apply for only a laptop which is priority . The tab was the frosting , but we seem to be short the cake ( laptop) .

As a business owner that has been more than patient with TElkom through the years - I now can not tolerate this putrude service levels and inconvenience .

Please urgently contact me
