Completely Unlimited NOT SO COMPLETELY UNLIMITED

I understand the concept of 'fair use policies' when it comes to 'unlimited data'. That said. When I ordered Telkom's Completely Unlimited package via their call centre, I repeatedly asked the question about throttled internet speeds and repeatedly got told that no, not on this package as it is 'completely unlimited'.

Enough said. Product sold. Happy new Telkom Mobile client.

However, on occasion when travelling I will suddenly find myself without internet. Completely without internet. Can't even open google search or send a WhatsApp message or download emails.

Gave the call centre a call and was only then informed about the clause re: fair use of 16GB per week. Simple solution, buy more data to see me through to the end of the month.

However, this month I travelled at the start of the month and ended up exceeding my 16GB by the 11th of April (today). Called Telkom Mobile just to learn that because I exceeded my 16GB during the first week, my internet speed will only be reset on the 1st of May, only solution - buy more GBs.

Suddenly this 'fair use policy' does not sound so fair anymore. Why is it Telkom, that you can't reset it after the following week once you notice that the usage has reverted back to normal? I feel utterly ******.

I have on many occasions requested a transcript or copy of the original call, but was told I need to obtain a request from a judge before they can release it. I made important buying decisions based on information supp**** by your telesales staff member. No terms and conditions were also on your website during December 2015 regarding 'fair use'.

Best part is, neither can Telkom Mobile supply me with a copy of my contract.

How does one stop incompetence and hiding behind 'policies and procedures' clearly out of touch with the CPA.

The age of automated responses. I'm not too excited or hopeful or holding my breath.

Thanks Thokozani, but you are missing the point. The article was written after I inniated by contract. Secondly, my issue is that Telkom avoids the question about a copy of my call OR my contract. Read my review again and get your act together. Next step for me is to declare a dispute and go the legal route.
