Complete Incompetence

I live half the year in London and half the year in Cape Town. When I retuened from London in November 2014, I could not reconnect my ADSL line as I normally do every year. This was hugely stressful as I was still working for my UK employer and could not email my work. I spent hours on the Telkom call centre, but the issue could not be resolved, so bought a prepaid ****le and used this as an expensive alternative. Eventually, I discovered that the company were laying down fibre optic cables and that is why I had no service from 1 November until the end of January. However, when I got my Telkom bills, I was still charged for these three months! On top of that, in February, when I tried to add an extra data bundle onto my now functioning ADSL, the consultant added an extra TIN number instead. So for Feb until May 2015, when I finally cancelled my landline, I was paying for 2 accounts - but only using 1. I reported the issue to the Sea Point office 3 times and they said someone from Telkom would contact me - but no one did. It was only when I cancelled my direct debit and the last payment did not go through, that someone called me - claiming that I owed them money!
