COMPLAIN TELKOM
I got a call from Telkom call center back in October 2023, they were informing me that Telkom was encouraging existing DSL clients to switch to wireless by keeping the same package and in exchange they will receive new Sim card with routers which can be used in or out of offices. ( because of cable theft).I was tempted to accept the deal. But when the courier came, I was shocked to see that there was no routers( only Sim cards x 3). Without my knowledge, all sim cards were already activated. I Immediately call back telkom to request for the routers. After talking to 4 consultants, I discovered that the deal was not including the routers. And that I must purchase them myself, as the Sim cards were already activated. I then declined the deal by requesting a formal cancelation on 9 th of October 2023. A copy can be made available upon request. I then noticed that my bill which was always around R4500, became OVER R10 000. I had to call the billing department every month to enquire if the cancelation took place and if they can pass credit . They were passing credit everyone pending the outcome of the dispute. Meanwhile, I have been paying my invoices accordingly. Three days ago, I received an email from Kabelo Se***o, informing me that I must rectify the account with an outstanding amount of R1535. ( This is 26/02/2024) around 19h30. I then decided to pay R1600 on the 27/02/2023, in the morning( i made an Immediate payment through cellphone banking) . Since the 26/ 02/ 2024, our three DSL lines were suspended by Kabelo Se***o. Everytime I am calling, I am told different stories, Now it is impossible to get through the retention department in order to obtain the cancelation reference number, it is impossible to obtain credit, it is impossible to know if the lines were in deed cancelled, it impossible to be reconnected as our business depends on internet to service our clients. Three days of none productivity is too much fior a small business which is striving to protect the jobs of 16 people ( families). The system is also not friendly to report this type of poor service to consumer protection, is there anyone out there who can plead on our behalf? Our country is already suffering enough with loss of jobs, we don't want to join the statistics. . Telkom must remember that that it is easy for any small company to grow big, besides they have been benefiting from our business for more than 10 years. We urgently need help in order to survive as a business. BA Mavoungou. Executive Director.
