Closing of a deceased account for a service not being received
Where to start....I am being charged for an ADSL service in an area where there is no ADSL service and I in fact have NO TELKOM SERVICE at the moment, but I am unable to get Telkom to stop charging my account. The Telkom account is in my husband's name and the debit order goes off against my account. My husband past away and I am trying to 1) get Telkom to update their records so I sent all the documents to *** in February 2024, received no response and then went to the Telkom Three Rivers branch on Friday 6 September. They called the call centre, I spent an hour on the phone with Billing department (who acknowledged I am bieng charged for something I should not be charged), but Cancellations had to first CANCEL the account before they can give me a refund. I was transferred to Cancellations who told me I had to send all the documents to the email address mentioned above and I'll receive a response by Wednesday 11/09/2024. Email was resent and I received a reference *** Wednesday came and went, no response received. I went back to Telkom Three Rivers and back to the call centre (Cancellations department, who now told me they cannot close the account because it is suspended!!! I needed to speak to Billing again. Billing refused to do anything because the account was not in my name, despite the fact that the debits are going off against my bank account. In the meantime there is a R700 going through my account every month which the bank is refusing to credit and return to Telkom. How and earth do I get this resolved???
