Charging for an account that was closed

I complaint a couple of weeks ago about Telkom wanting to charge R2 039.72 for a line that they were supposed to have cancelled. Telkom saw their mistake and credited the account but left the account with an outstanding amount of R552.98.

This is where it gets funny. The account was supposed to have been terminated by around the 16th of August 2015. I am pasting parts of my invoice below:

Previous invoice Balance brought forward R515.22

Payments

Receipt/Ref Date Description

********** 21 Aug 15 Payment received R520.00 CR

Opening balance Credit amount R4.78 CR

Coins discontinued R0.01 CR

This clearly states that the account was in credit on the 15th of August 2015. There was however a charge on the account for future rental, as can be seen below:

DSL Fastest ********** 657 21 Aug 15 - 26 Aug 15 R72.16

Telkom Evening W/Ender Plan ********** 657 21 Aug 15 - 26 Aug 15 R34.97

DSL Fastest ********** 657 27 Aug 15 - 26 Sep 15 R372.81

Telkom Evening W/Ender Plan ********** 657 27 Aug 15 - 26 Sep 15 R180.70

These charges are for after the account should have been closed, but Telkom does not see it this way.

Telkom wants to charge the R552.98 plus Nu Debt's legal fees of R300 which brings the amount to over R800.

Ho dare you charge legal fees on this even? How dare you list a consumer on ITC when the consumer has done nothing wrong?

Get your act together and sort this out.
