Charging customers for there billing mistakes

On the 22 September 2017 I opened a new banking account with Standard Bank. On the 28th of September 2017 I contacted Telkom to update my banking details for the October 25th debit and months going forward.

The Telkom call center agent confirmed that the details were updated as per my request.

On the 25th of October, a month after my request to updated banking details, Telkom went ahead and debited on my previous Nedbank account. I then called the useless Telkom call center again on 26th October at 07:20 AM and explained to the agent that they had to reverse the debit from the Nedbank account and re-debit the correct account which is Standard Bank. I also requested to speak to a Manager or supervisor of some sort, well that didn't happen. I was told the team leader or supervisor will contact me within a period of time. I am still waiting for that call till today.

The money was then reversed from my Nedbank account. Then on the 28th October I received an sms stating I need to do payment within 48 hours. I called the forever useless Telkom call center once again on the morning of the 28th October and I spoke to yet another pathetic agent who was very useless may I say.The agent told me to do a manual payment which I did the same day on the 28th.

Unfortunately on the 31st October Telkom then debited my Standard Bank account yet I had done the manual payment and I they still went ahead and debit my account? With that said, on the 01st of November I got on the phone to call that useless Telkom call center to speak to yet another agent explaining what had happened. I then instructed the agent to NOT reverse the debit but rather let it carry over which for the first-time, someone that works for Telkom managed to follow an instruction.

On the 04th November I then received a statement that has an additional R200.94 because of the debit order rejection fee. There was NO rejection but instead Telkom DIDN'T DO their job PROPERLY. I am currently still waiting for the supervisor to call me back from telkom as promised by the call centre agent. I have called Telkom trying to escalate the matter but it seems there's no path to escalate. I have sent countless emails to the ********** email address but the auto reply states the mailbox to the address is full. I guess it is full because everyone is complaining about Telkom.

I will NOT pay the R200.94 rejection fee because it is NOT my fault telkom did NOT update my details as per my initial request.

This is the last contract I will ever have with Telkom with it's *********** team or a bunch of stuff.

Launa On the 23rd Nov 2017 you called following my complaint on Hellopeter. You told me that the R200.94 Telkom was billing me will be removed and I will only get the updated invoice that states that amount as credit to balance your blling. I shared my proof of payments as you requested and you still haven't responded to me. Well Telkom has gone ahead with billing that R200.94. I demand that you personal fix my issue as per our telephonic discuss. I knew deep down that you'll soon prove your incompetence as a Telkom employee. I guess it is a Telkom "thing" to bull**** your customers.
