Charging customers for services not rendered or received

What an awful experience with Telkom, I had my services canceled in May and they are sending me collection messages and threatening me. Why must I pay for services that I have never received on a month to month contract. I tried calling many times and all they can say is that the matter is with collections and theres nothing they can do about it.
