Charged for two months after requested cancellation date which was given the sufficient notice
Dear Telkom, this is my monthly message to you and no doubt, it will be your monthly opportunity to escalate my request and have no-one contact me. I would love for you to prove me wrong. Please prove me wrong.
My original request: I submitted an online cancellation request for my landline (Account no ********** 79657 for ********** 804) on Thursday, 16 November 2017 at 08:05. I know this because I received email confirmation of the cancellation (ref: ********** ). I asked for the line to be cancelled by 1 January. You called me before the 1st to confirm the cancellation. I asked to proceed. At this time I had a credit of about R255 on my account.
I then contacted you via Twitter on 14 February when I received a bill for January. I continued to follow up on Feb 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, Apr 18, 25, May 8 and finally May 20. Since then, I also contacted your rep on MyBroadband and I have engaged with your online chat support. My case ref is ********** 3 and I have also received this escalation case ref: ********** 3
From your online chat person, I found out that you had in fact only cancelled my line at the end of February. I was therefore billed for two months after the cancellation date resulting in an amount owing on my account for a period when no services were rendered. I continue to receive bills and late payment fees for this amount. Please can you rollback these charges and refund me the credit due on my account as of 1 January 2018. I would also ask that any record of this on my credit rating is removed.
Kind regards
