Charged again for a cancelled contract
Telkom mobile please explain why I am being billed for a product I do not have?? I really am an unhappy customer who feels extremely frustrated over your service.
I moved from Vodacom to telkom mobile based on the cancellation policy (clearly a mistake) and signed up for a sim only month to month contract (not a fixed contract) R605 a month and was told I could cancel any time. I was going to be travelling for a while and wouldn’t need my South African number (contract), I went into your telkom tygervalley mall Cape Town store on the 30 June 2022 to give a months notice for cancellation, I was told by two of your staff that I would not need to give a months notice as if I was a to cancel in store then the package will be terminated immediately, I told them I was leaving at the end of July thus they advised that I come in before I leave to allow me to still have access to the package until I leave. I then confirmed this with “the store manage” I went back into the store on the the 31st July 2022 to cancel and confirmed my cancellation, my husband then also checks to confirm it’s been cancelled and that I will no be changed any further, This all confirmed by your staff.
Today (4th September) I receive a bill for R807.70 ??? On the statement it shows R605 rejected payment (of course because that bank account is now closed) and a further amount of R202.70 for a payment rejection fee totalling a bill of R807.70. This is for the month of august, the month that ALL of YOUR staff confirmed I would not be charged for!
Please can you rectify this and have it removed as your mistake effects my credit, I am not even able to come in to a store or phone in as I am overseas. I will await your confirmation.
