Centre needs proper training and more agents

On the 31st March at 15.54 I called in to the call centre to inquire about the product called softcap. I asked the lady on the phone if it was only for fixed lines or also for wireless. She said it was also for wireless and that I need to buy a telkom sim card as a I already had the huawei modem. I did this and a consultant called me back on the 04th of April. I too informed her that I was purchasing softcap for wireless. She said no problem submitted the order and said the technical department would be in touch to help me setup. This brings us to the 14th of April. After not hearing from the technical department since the 4th I called in. 1: I had to hold for 30 minutes before an agent answered. 2: I was transferred to between 6 or 7 people all of whom I told what I needed, none helped me and I eventually got through to a guy in sales that tried to help. I too told him that I needed soft cap for wireless. There was a problem with my modem which he couldn't help me with so I hung up fixed the problem myself and went into a telkom branch yesterday only to be informed that softcap is only for fixed lines. 2 hours of calls only to be told what I should have been told 3 weeks ago.

Usually I just move on, but not this time. This is the response I received. Good day Please note that we have Softcap deals on fixed line contracts Kindly follow the link below to browse the deals available. We do apologise for the inconvenience caused Frida Really??? Not one issue that I raised addressed. Thank you for your email Telkom but that Telkom plans page is the page I initially viewed which started all the confussion. Has anyone at Telkom actually looked at that page? I am changing over from Iburst who I have given my 30 days notice to, but I am reconsidering. An apology is nice, thank you but I need to know if the service I received is going to be the norm so I can stay with Iburst or if Telkom is actually going to make an effort to improve customer service.
