case number open _ *****

in 2015 someone opened a landline number without me knowing it. After numerous attempts to tell their employees its not my account the more it fall on death ear. I have open a case number by the police and know who was involved. I would like for the account to be closed of by my name as it reflect on my credit score.

Please assist me, i can't believe it takes almost a year to do someone about this situation. I'm not going to pay for something I didn't open nor use.
