Can't keep to deadlines they set themselves

Requested to upgrade Telkom ADSL line from 4MB/s to 10MB/s, the person at the sales call center told me that it will take no more that 48 hours. I called when the upgrade did not happen within 48 hours, the person that I spoke to told me that it will take 7 days, when I told him that it was unacceptable and that I wished to speak to a supervisor, I was told that there was no supervisor he left. I waited the 7 days and phoned again today, I spent a total of 44 minutes on the line either waiting for someone (very ***********) to answer or being told that sales is waiting for the technical department and there is no way for me to contact the technical department because they have no phone numbers!!! When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was put on hold for a long time (I think they want you to give up and disconnect the call), only to be told after a considerable time that the supervisor is on a call and they will phone me back. No callback happened!! Telkom why do you commit to a deadline of 48 hours if you can't even do the work in seven days. If you told me upfront that something will take more than a week then I wont have any expectations of actual customer service happening, but I suspect that expecting good service from Telkom is more or less like expecting honesty from a politician!!

Reviewer Update
Episode 2 After another 47 minutes on the phone to 10213, speaking to a person with a little more sense than the other call centre agent I have dealt with so far, we established that the person that originally filled in the order on the system, never completed it!! The agent I spoke to said she will complete it but I must hold so she can give the information to her manager, she put me on hold and after about 10 minutes a person in another department answered the phone, so now I have no idea whether the order has been completed or not, I have no idea if I am going to get the upgrade. The one thing I know is that there are a number of wireless isp's in the area that are about the same price as Telkom!
