Can't do SIM swap over the phone

I had an incident where I lost my dual SIM phone. one of the SIMs was one I got with a phone purchased from Telkom Mobile. I tried calling customer care to do a SIM swap but I was told to go in store as they stopped doing them over the phone to prevent *****. My problem is now the closest Telkom Mobile store is 180KM from me. I think i'll have to pay off my contract and cut ties and continue with the other provider as I swapped SIMs using USSD.
