Cannot cancle my ADSL service?!...
I have been a Telkom customer for more than a decade and was generally happy with their offerings, part from occasional faults on their network.
Since late 2017, the ADSL speeds I achieved have been on the decline, until is reached an unbearable 0.5Mbps (on a 4Mbps line). After two months of trying to fix the fault, which was due to aging infrutructure, I have decided to cancel my ADSL and go wireless. In January 2018, I have notified both Telkom and my ISP (MWEB) that I am canceling my ADSL services. MWEB service was outstanding and the service (and charges were cancled at the end of Feb). Telkom on the other hand, are still charging me for their services, despite the fact that I have requested to cancel the service via the online portal, via emails to them and after calling their call centre several times. Every month, when I get the bill with additional DSL charge, I contact them and ask why is it not yet sorted... I am refusing to pay the bills and I will not pay them until the charges are reversed.
Telkom - being a good service provider is not only judged by providing a good service when it is requested, but also terminating it when instructed!
I am extremely disapointed and am considering cancling my landline as well... Would not recommend signing up with Telkom, as it seems that once you are in you can never get out!
