Cancelling a land line is impossible with Telkom
in November 2016 I cancelled my Telkom home land line. I enquired on the process and was given a cancellation from which I needed to complete and send through to their cancellations. I did this and received an automated response acknowledging receipt and that someone would be in touch within 21 days. I assumed the account was closed even though I had not received any further communication. From the end of November 2016 I did not use my line and unplugged all the phones A few months later I plugged in a phone to 'check' and it was still operational!!!! I immediately resent this cancellation again from the 1st November and still the same automated response. The interesting part is that on a few occasions when I pd my bill late it was disconnected, however now months of non payment and it had not been disconnected. Telkom still had not cut my line. In about April 2017, it was disconnected. I though great they have the message now. No sooner had this happened and I received a Mail from a company called Nudebt who are collection agents. I explained the situation, sent through my cancellation forms numerous times and still continue to threaten handing over for non payment and today they are threatening via email and SMS with final demands for payment...... I do not owe this money!
