Cancelled data sim with active data

I buy my Data for my data sim card my 5gig. and then Monday 13 July it stopped working. today the 17th July went into the store and was told that my sim was cancelled and that the gent had a dont care attitude and could do nothing . but i can try phoning the helpline. which would cost be additional as i am not part of there network. After standing in a que for 20mins.
