Cancelled contract - wasn't cancelled, now potentially being sued

Hi guys

I cancelled a month to month contract almost a year ago, with the account apparently never being closed. I followed all the necessary steps to close it through the cancellations email and assumed by lack of response that it was closed accordingly.

Now I am receiving sms's from some unknown company saying that I have to pay some money or I will be sued or something. I don't know if it's an honest message or **** spam as we receive so much nonsense regularly over sms these days. But I am concerned that you have not cancelled my account and now are potentially affecting my credit.

Very disappointed that I have not even had a phone call from anyone from Telkom to explain what happened with the cancellation and if this is related
