Cancellation of my contract

Cancellation of my contract with Telkom

Seeing that I am student again this year I cancelled my contract because I know I would not be able to pay the instalments.

I filled in the forms and send it through to Telkom on the 15/12/2016 after which they told me it will take 21 working days to process. ( great I was early enough)

Then when I called in January to check the update the gentleman told me sorry but TELKOM could not get hold of you so they throughout the Cancellation case????? I asked him how many times they tried to call. (According to my record THREE times.) Of which the only times I got a call from Telkom was to sell another phone to me because it was “Time for an upgrade” and each time I told them I’m in the process of cancelling so no thank you.

SO PROBLEM ONE: why if my signature is on a piece of paper that clearly state I want to cancel a contract should they call me again to CONFIRM my cancellation??? I signed for it

TWO: Why call during working hours. If they did call . I have called regarding this at 21:26 in the evening and someone picked up the phone. Why can’t they call after working hours. Seeing that there are so many working late at night????

So after having this discussion and super aggravated I called again and Ayanda helped me. I sent everything through to her and said seeing I might be working they are more than welcome to send me an email. She rep**** after I sent my cancellation form through that she received it and someone will get in contact with me within 48 hours. (This was the 1/2/2017 it’s been 8 days.)

This morning(10/2/2017) I called again and someone with a flu said sorry mam let me just check your account. After holding 25 minutes, I was cut off. Called again, told the guy I was cut off. He helped me says Ayanda’s Manager will call me back in a hour or so….. still waiting.

Everytime I have called I STATED: “ there will not be money in the account if you try to deduct the instalment. I have waited more than 21 working days. This is now your problem.”

I want to stay with Telkom because as a student it is cheaper for me. I’m happy with my phone that I have. I just feel if you promise a service then deliver. I studied management and I’ve worked in the industry for a few years now. I refuse to pay an extra month for a service that should have been stopped at te end of January. Because in FEBRUARY I received my normal data and minutes as if I am not struggling to get it cancelled.

If someone don’t help me soon I will be forced to go to another service.
