Cancellation of account not being processed - still receiving an account with outstanding subscription fees!
Due to me moving to fibre, I cancelled my Telkom and Mweb accounts on 20 April 2018. I went into the store in Rhine Road, Sea Point for the consultant to help me with this, as it has to be done online. I received an email on 30 April acknowledging my cancellation for number ********** 651 with a reference number ********** 4.
It is now end of September and I am still receiving a monthly account. The line does not exist, there is no telephone connected to it.
At the end of every month, I phone Telkom and speak to a consultant, give my reference number and sort it out. This all costing me on average R80 per call from my cell phone. The consultant assures me every time that it is Telkom's error and the cancellation was not processed, and assures me that it was done properly now. End of month I get another account.
I cannot believe the inefficiency of this department. Stop sending me accounts for an account that was cancelled months ago.
At the end of July I phoned in and complained - they assured me it would be sorted out. Ref ********** 2.
At the end of August I phone in again and demanded to speak to a supervisor, again I was assured that it was all sorted out. Reference ********** 8.
Then on Friday 21 September, I received another account in the mail. Now it is an accumulated amount of R878.88. I am not going to be calling the call centre again just to waste another R80 on a call to some inefficient call centre agent.
Telkom Management, I trust this will get the attention it deserves and that the account received on the 21st of September will indeed be the last.
Kind regards Ros
