Cancellation nightmare

I sent in the cancellation form to cancel my land line and adsl on 16 Nov 2017. I then again sent it throught with a copy of my ID on 23 Nov 2017. I repeated this on 15 Dec 2017. I continued paying until end of January 2018. Since the I have phoned Telkom almost every month, I have gone to Telkom stores on several occasions and yet I kept receiving new invoices every month. We had this matter escalated on 5 March 2018. Yet the bills kept increasing. I continued trying to follow up. On 16 October 2018, I managed to finally get through and my line was subsequently cancelled. I filled a dispute with regards to how much money I owe to Telkom or (more appropriately) how much money Telkom owes to me (as I still paid after the official 21 day notice period). On 21 Nov 2018, I received a sms stating "Your account for customer ********* has been suspended due to collection". I phoned Telkom AGAIN and was told my account has been suspended due to non-payment and that I owe over R7000. I was asked to file a dispute. I told the lady that I already lodged a dispute more than a month ago. After checking her system for several minutes, she finally found the dispute and told me she was escalating it and marking it as urgent. I asked for proof of this being done, but was denied this request. I was only allowed to get the lady's name (which I forgot to write down). I was also informed that Telkom is "struggling with a backlog of cases identical" to mine and that it thus may take some time to resolve.

There is no transparency to this process, my credit rating is most likely being affected and I might even get blacklisted due to the lack of accountability by Telkom. This process has taken up many hour of my time, consumed my leave days from work, caused endless frustration and stress, as well as possibly affecting my financial future. This is unacceptable!
