Cancellation Incompetence/Indifference

Due to pending migration at the end of Jan 15, called Telkom at the start of Jan 15 to request cancellation at the end of the month. Call centre consultant advised that service would be disconnected as requested and a final bill for calls made during Jan would follow.

Left South Africa as expected at the end of Jan but February bill included normal charges for services for the February period as if no cancellation had occurred.

After speaking with multiple people who kept parroting 'cancellation takes x days' seemingly oblivious to the fact that the required notice was originally given, I finally found someone who assured me that they would fix it and cancellation would be effective from the end of Jan and a revised bill for calls only would be sent.

It is now March and I have a March bill for calls only - not a revised February bill as promised.

I have enough on my plate trying to get settled in a new country without having to deal with pointless phone calls where the agreed actions never happen.
