Canceling Telkom Line is like drawing blood from a cat
I canceled my Telkom contract in May when my device plan was paid up. I called in 15 days before and canceled on their app and noted that I want to stop the airtime and allow for the cellphone insurance to continue. I received a reference, and at the end of the month I was credited with airtime and my deduction went off. But something changed on my bank statement, i was receiving two debits with different references after inspecting my invoices I noticed that Telkom had combined my personal account with my business account which belongs to where I work. I was being billed for airtime separately and my business account (work number) had access amounts that were due which were coming out of my bank account. On that business account I was no longer receiving unlimited wireless data as it reflected on my package and invoice so i had to topup which was causing the problem. I queried this over the phone and I was told that my package had data of 3 gig although i told the agent thats what i had purchased that week she couldn't see any data usage besides the once off bundle so she assumed that i wasn't due it.
Nevertheless I continued and requested thaf she sends a cancelation for my personal number and I requested a reference for it which she said that she wouldn't get up until its actioned but she will escalate my query.
I then sent an email to stipulated on Telkoms website to request a cancelation. At the end of the month of August I decided not to pay as nothing has been actioned regarding my cancelation for my personal account and nothing had been done about my data issue for my business number, I later received a bill which also had issues.
From paying R98 for airtime to R709 due. They had charged me R405 for the unpaid bill, and it still didn't make sense coz they had a brought forward amount of R200 and a due amount of r98.
The same was done for my business account, from R266 to R800!
I got on the phone and spoke to an agent whom agreed that the charges didnt make sense and said that she will escalate it to back end. No feedback since
A few days later I received an email from a credit controller Pamela Chetty whom informed me of my outstanding amount due on my Business line (work nr) i rep**** via email and informed her that my bill was not accurate. There is a cellphone insurance linked to that account that shouldn't be there, they have brought forward amounts for July which were paid and have charged me double for unpaid fees however I have yet to receive any feedback with that regard.
I then tried the Telkom chat agents, the first one was Nicole whom I tried to explain everything to but insisted that i had not canceled my personal phone number yet as she couldn't pick it up and proceed to advise me on how to do it again although I had sent the cancelation morw then 4 times. Awe spoke about my personal bill and she said that the reason i was billed r405 is because I hadnt paid for July and Aug, which wasn't true so i offered to send her my banking details and she gavs me an email and I sent everything according and i havent had any feedback.
I tried again with another chat agent Pinky but her line kept on freezing.
I have been to your Century City branch before and I was given a page with an application form told to follow the instructions to cancel on the app otherwise they couldn't assist
So now i feel ********** as your services arent helping, i need that number canceled and if it were up to me i would cancel the business line too cz my company is paying for unlimited contracts but i still need to top up and get invoices that are messed up. Its unacceptable that you send people from post to pilar you wait 2hrs to speak to an agent to find out that nothing was done is disgusting and shows that the company does not value its customers
