Cancelation of my insurance.
On the 27th of January 2020, I sent my phone in for repairs at the Telkom branch as the screen was cracked and it no longer functioned. A month later I haven't received any feedback as to how far my device is with it being repaired or a quotation of the access claim fee. I went in to the Telkom branch to find out what was happening just to find out that my device wasn't even repaired. They gave me the quote of how much the access claim fee is on that day when I went Telkom, just to find out that I had to pay R809 just to fix my device, same amount I would pay if I go to Huawei or Samsung to get your device fixed and I mean this is ridiculous because you pay insurance to avoid paying all that money when something happens to your device. I asked them if they could bring my unrepaired device back to the store so that I can fix it myself. The gentleman told me that I will get my unrepaired device within the next three days that was assisting me. I waited another month just to get my unrepaired device back. I called Finrite to find out how long it would take for my device to return to the store because the gentleman in the Telkom store advised me that it will only take three days to get back to the store. As soon as I received my unrepaired device back in March 2020 I asked them in the store to cancel my insurance because I can't be paying for something on a monthly basis that is not benefiting me in any way and I was waiting impatiently for my device. When I received the SMS to fetch my unrepaired device I asked the gentleman at Telkom that assisted me to cancel my insurance but he said that he can't process it and I have to contact Finrite myself. The next day I called the Finrite land-line and waited for 30 minutes just for the call to be answered. Eventually I spoke to a young lady and I asked her to cancel my insurance. She said that she was in the process of doing it. I sent Finrite about three different emails as well clearly stating that I want my insurance canceled with immediate effect so that I can have proof in writing stating that I want it my insurance canceled and that was on the 20th of March 2020. Up until this day I have not received any emails from Finrite and they continue debiting the insurance money. I sent them another email today to cancel my insurance because I have been waiting on the Finrite land-line for 30 minutes again. I mean I can't be spending so much money on airtime calling Finrite and going to the Telkom store just to cancel my insurance. I would like for them to refund me my insurance monies back that I've been paying for almost two years because when it's time for them to fix your phone they don't do it but when it comes to you as a customer that has to pay for insurance they are fast to debit that money on a monthly basis. This has been the worst experience I faced with an insurance company.
