Cancelation of contract no action

I was on the 24 th mount contract but now on the 25th I went to Telkom branch in Nelspruit Riverside Mall to cancel my contact 30 days before 24 mount , But nothing was done I was paying R 369.00 for the past 2years with no statement . but on my 25th mount I did receive a statement for the first time and they want R 733.00 how stupid is that. I wanted to use the network only but please cancel everything
