Can't do a Sim sawp

Can any one tell me why am I not able to do a sim swap on my number that I ported from mtn to telkom and its a pre paid number *** I have been using this number for yrs now and as soon as I move it to telkom I am no longer able to use it why? I think the best option is go back to mtn.
