Call center bullying and victimisation
26 months ago I entered into a 2 year 8.ta internet service contract with Telkom in response to a promotion that was run at the time.
In the recent 3 month period I have received 2 calls from Telkom and informed that I should upgrade/renew immediately and with that caller because (1) the contract \ends"and I therefor need to do so - first caller (2) although I may continue with the contract on a month-to-month basis Telkom has the right to increase my fees anyway.
In both calls the additional service options and fees were mentioned and I in turn stated that I am a pensioner forced to consider cheapest options only.
I wish to point out that the Telkom callers in the above cases (especially the second caller) went beyond the limits of professional and acceptable \""hard sell\"" tactics by using threats (\""your contract ends\"" - \""We can increase your fees anyway\"") and by bullying. I define bullying as the caller \""bulldozing\"" the conversation and not listening to my queries.
I also believe that the second call was made as a result of the first being unsuccessful and I now have a notation on my Telkom account that could lead to more aggressive calls and unreasonable increases in fees
"""
