Buyer beware, cancelling contract next to impossible

Please be cautious before signing with Telkom, just do a short google search for how to cancel your Telkom contract and you will see all the chatter of how Telkom does not make it easy.

2 personal instore visits with required documents and 2 emails , ZERO response or feedback:

I visited Telkom Clearwater Mall on the 17th May 2017 in person (have the SMS confirming), where I cancelled my contract as it had passed the contracted period. I was interested in resigning a new larger contract at the time where the peron asssiting Mmamoitlisis Mokoatle advised thats not possible. I had to cancel the existing contract and then sign a new contract.

On the 10th June 2017 I returned to the store as I had zero feedback from Telkom and according to another branch the cancellation had NOT been loaded. They captured my details and advised someone would contact me the same day. DIDNT HAPPEN

On the 12th June 2017, I sent an email to the email address listed on the Telkom site for cancellations, ZERO response. Today the 13th June 2017 I have sent another email with still no response, accroding to a blog I read, cancellations only happen when clients complain on HelloPeter, so trying here now.

Reviewer Update

We now move into 8 requests for cancellation. 2 instore at clearwater, 4 to the cancellation email and 2 with the social media team of Telkom.

And .................... Nothing.

Off to the ombudsman, there are things like consumer protection and treating customer fairly regulations in South Africa.
