This has been my Telkom Hell for the last 2 years, where a fictitious billing on an account which had been cancelled has resulted in defamation of my character in the public domain, to the extent that Banks are asking me for a paid up letter as if I was in the wrong!
I took out a Telkom LTE contract in Dec 2014 which came to an end in Dec 2016, we carried on using the LTE service on a month to month basis. I cancelled my Telkom contract on 14 Oct 2018 at a Telkom Store in Ballito Junction Mall. at the end of 2019 I was hunted down by a PE Debt Collector for an outstanding amount of R5000 on my Telkom account for a period between Feb 2019 - Jul 2019, at which point we were no longer using the Telkom LTE Services. The Debt collector closed the file after I provided them with my cancellation reference number, I assumed the case was solved, until 14 April 2021 where I was informed by the Bond Applications person that I have an adverse on my account. It has taken lots of anxiety, tears and phone calls to *********** Telkom Call Centre Agents (incl visiting a Telkom Store) and my case was yesterday resolved. In my original plight, I asked for a paid up letter, after yet another call on 21 Apr 2021 @ 17:27 I get informed by another call center agent that I had to log another request for a Paid Up Letter and it will take 7 - 14 working days for this letter (assuming they cannot copy paste). This journey has been **********, I informed the office of the CEO (Sipho Maseko), NO REPLY TO DATE, and yet the Banks see me as the bad guy, I had the account in arrears when it was in actual fact TELKOM that made the billing mistake! TELKOM, you have affected my credit scoring, you have defamed my character and you have influenced my ability to apply for a Home Loan! #Bul****ByTelkom, #Bul****ByTelkom
