Breach of contract by Telkom & non disclosure
My 56 year old mother took out a contract with Telkom back in Feb spoke to Phindile at sales department. This was to be for R159pm and that was confirmed by this consultant however Phindile failed to disclose to my mom and explain thoroughly that there is a default spend limit of R500 which is automatic. My mom uses the telkom SIM as a hotspot, and she only got a message stating she has exceeded her spend limit which she didn't know about later on. The call centre as always passed the buck when we called told her Fortunate will call my mom back after listening to the call but the fault was closed without that ever happening. Another fault was logged again and this time someone called from ********** 888 and said they will listen to the call and revert back. Last week or so my mom got a call from a guy at Telkom saying she will be refunded as the recording doesn't have the spend limit disclosure and telkom will be in touch. Then nothing, I sent a DM on Twitter and Maggie said no this is a default/ automatic thing with all contracts so my Mom had to pay. Telkom how does this happen when you have failed to disclose thus breaching the contract?? Do your representative whether call agents or back office all work for a different Telkom which is why all your agents never see notes, refuse to take responsibility? By the way David Tshabalala at your call centre is very rude , speaking over my Mom like that and telling her there is no Team leader, second in charge or manager on your guys floor. So I wonder what kind of a joke call centre you run. So my mom took a binding contract without everything being thoroughly explained, you have claimed to listen to the call and heard that the spend limit was never disclosed but you refuse to take responsibility and pay her hard earned money back. How dare you?
