Blaclisted a 84 old man for debt that was not his

<p>About a year ago my dad received sms's from a debt collector stating that he owe's Telkom R21000. Needless to say that he is 84 yeard me s old. How on earth can a pensioner and the fact that he is living with his daughter have a bill so high. He does not even have a landline. I phoned the debt collectors and they told me that this account has been closed. After a year he received sms's from VVM Attorneys stating that he still owe's Telkom money. I phoned them and they informed me that this account was handed over to them in 2015. I phoned Telkom and even went to a Telkom store and they informed me that my dad does not owe them money. I even got a print out that shows that there is a zero balance. I then phoned Telkom again and they told me that this account is been written off. How can a attorney after an account has been written off still harass an old man, even starting to harass his daugther for the monies that he is not aware off. Telkom went and blacklist a old man of 84. Ridiculous??????? This is now affecting his credit record with ABSA where he banks for 50 years negatively. I would like to know how can attorney's collect money if the debt has been written off. I need his name to be cleared from the ITC.</p>
