Blacklisted for peanuts with no idea!
Dear Telkom,
You have effectively ruined my life! And after various attempts and promises from your side I am still no closer to having this problem resolved.
In January I cancelled my services with Telkom, I received a call from telkom with cancellation figures to pay the final amount of R840+-. At this point I paid the final account. I asked the consultant, "Is this the final amount I will need to pay to Telkom. She rep****, YES!"
My number was ported to another service provider and I moved on with my life. I now attempted to purchase a home, thinking that my affairs are in order, only to discover through the bank bond application that in March 2018 telkom sent me another invoice for R169.00. This they sent to an email address, that I have time and time again attempted to update on their system, that I am no longer using! (After 9 attempts in 2016 to update my email address I gave up)
Effectively, I have had no phone calls (my number on you system is correct),no messages from telkom, no other emails to any email at all, no correspondence what so ever saying my account is in arrears. No call saying, you are in arrears when can we expect payment as we are handing your massive credit of R169.00 over to a debt collector and blacklisting you. And only 2 months after the amount was due???
WHAT THE HELL TELKOM??????
As a result, 5 seconds after I discovered this I made the payment in full.
I have now spent a total of 6 hours on hold and a further 6 hours over the past few days speaking to your consultants to assist me with providing the letter stating I have settled the amount and the clearance with the credit agencies. I have spoken to every low level consultant you could possible have!!! I have been very nice and very polite and I have been promised more than 3 times that I would have it ASAP, by the end of the day, etc etc etc...
I have sent the proof of payment, I have confirmed the payment reflects, I have tried and tried!
And Still NOTHING!!!!!
I have signed an Offer to Purchase on a property, where I will loose a MASSIVE, and I do mean MASSIVE deposit if i do not get finance, and this was my stupidity, yes for thinking my affairs are in order. I am not going to get finance without this letter and the due date for bond approval was yesterday! I have asked for an extension of the expiry of the offer, but I have heard nothing!
Thanks for ruining my life!
