Blacklisted due to a fault by Telkom
I am terribly disappointed at the exiting service I have received with Telkom. It all started with me giving Telkom a 31 day cancellation notice of services that resulted in a penalty of R900 added to my account for presumably “late” notice. Telkom policy only require 30 days’ notice! It took approximately 2 months for the account to be resolved (since September 2018) and cleared after multiple calls that incurred me costs. I was eventually informed by sms that the query has been resolved, which was confirmed by Telkom.
I went about my business and app**** for a credit increase with a credit provider. They informed me that they will have to perform a credit check last week, which I gladly agreed to. The following work day I received feedback that my credit increase is on hold due to my credit profile showing that I owe Telkom money and that I would have to supply proof that this is not the case. It seems that Telkom had me blacklisted due to a fault that they caused in the first place.
I have phoned Telkom`s customer care line several times in an attempt to resolve the issue, but was told that they can only send an email to their credit department and that I would have to wait for them to contact me. I have personal matters to settle urgently and have been severely inconvenienced by errors caused not by me, but by Telkom. I only require a letter of debt clearance so that I can hand it over to the credit provider which is waiting for me.
