BLACK FRIDAY **** brought to you by TELKOM
I app**** for a contract with Telkom on black Friday for a Samsung A8 for R249. I was then contacted from the sales department telling me I qualify and because I was part of the first 500 clients I was told I qualify for a gift which was a Samsung headset. My account was then debited for R249, when my account was debited I expected to receive my device soon after.
Two weeks later I contacted Telkom sales department to find out what's the hold up. The consultant told me that I will be receiving my A8 within two days time.
The next day I received a call from Telkom saying they do not have stock of the A8, and they want to offer me a samsung A6 plus.
I Dont see why when I qualified with a credit check and my account was conveniently debited that I should receive a less spec phone and at lower value than that of which I app**** for.
The next day I contacted Telkom again waiting for 30 minutes for someone to answer, when eventually I got through I spoke to Thabo to whom I explained that should not have to take an A6 plus over an A8 he was rude and didn't give a damn about how he treated customers he told me that he will put it on the system that I am willing to wait for stock of the A8 or if no stock the deal will be cancelled. Thabo gave me his name and a reference number .
The day after I received an SMS stating I will receive my phone via courier, with concern yet again I then phoned Telkom AGAIN . I spoke to a sales consultant explaining my story and to my surprise Thabo gave me a reference that does not exist.
I was compelety frustrated when she told me that. She said Thabo did absolutely nothing on the system and to her knowledge I was receiving a Samsung A6 plus. She then told me to contact 081 180 in order to cancel this contract.
When I contacted that number they told me I need to speak to the sales department. They couldn't assist me. Clients are pushed from pillar to post.
I am utterly disgusted and appauled by the terrible service that Telkom,a supposedly trusted so called leading network and mobile industry, is giving their clients.
I can't seem to understand how if you qualify as part of the 500 applications to receive a specific device and gift that now they do not have stock. It brings into question whether they ever had stock or are they actually ******** clients to get in as much applications as possible and tricking clients into accepting devices of lower value.
I do not believe it is fair or honest to take money for something you cannot deliver.
Telkom you need to correctly service your clients and have competent caring staff. Your staff is hurting your reputation.
