Billing service protocol needs improvement

Months ago I cancelled my telephone services with Telkom, according to myself my account was fully paid... In June this year I was told that I'm 405rands in arrears.. At first I was confused as I sent the letter to the relevant department.. Futhermore they explained that I failed to pay the last month. I felt the onus was on their billing department to inform me of any arrears amounts (baring in mind that you have to phone on a monthly basis for your account invoice) furthermore I paid the balance immediately. When applying for vehicle finance today I was told I have been registered to the credit bureau.. How is this possible? I paid when I was informed I had a balance, in fact I paid immediately.

Telkom decided to hand me over before making contact with me, according to me that was not following the correct protocol. Now I must wait until a letter is compiled and sent to the credit bureau.

I have lost complete faith in this organization in its entirety..
