Billing: Re-connection fee | Suspended service | Account Issue

Two months ago my Telkom landline was suspended due to an issue on Telkom's side (billing related). This was confirmed by the lady I spoke to and the line was reconnected right away. I then made a credit card payment for my current owed amount to Telkom just to be on the safe side. My line was suspended again just after midnight. I went to look at my latest bill only to find out that I was charged a re-connection fee for the issue which occurred on their side. To make matters worse, I fear that I will be charged another re-connection fee now that it was suspended yet again. My payments go off via debit order each month so no issue could have occurred. The re-connection fee is about R260. I refuse to pay for mistakes on Telkom's side and so should any Telkom customer.

I also saw that on the latest bill, my account number changed as well as my home address which makes me wonder what is going on at Telkom's admin side.

My account is still showing even a greater amount outstanding, even after the case created at Telkom was closed. I tried to call Telkom twice in the last hour, holding for 15 minutes and then 25 minutes, but the line got cut both times on their agents' end of the line. As this has not been sorted out for a month, I will be looking at ending all services with Telkom (like many others who use fibre or Mobile internet instead). If you are looking for an internet solution, steer clear of Telkom.
