Beyond poor service.

I cancelled a number at Telkom I had for many years. To cancel this number was a "mission" (almost impossible - not user friendly at all) on its own as I was send from the one place (telephonically) to the other. I even went to my local Telkom shop and was informed I cannot do cancellations at the Telkom shop. Eventually I managed to cancel this number and was informed that they cannot give me the final amount due because of certain admin that needs to be completed, which can take some time The final invoice will be send for settlement at a later stage. I never received this settlement invoice / email to date in this matter. I have a second number with Telkom, thus they have my detail available to them.

I received three SMS messages from their debt collector (VVM) informing me that Telkom has handed me over and that a trace locator has been activated on my profile at CPB Credit Bureau. This was now the first interaction after my cancellation with Telkom or their representative company (debt collectors). I contacted VVM this morning and requested them to send me the Telkom confirmation and proof of VVM as appointed debt collectors on their behalf. VVM merely send me a statement on their letterhead. I have paid the amount into VVM's account and is now waiting for my receipt and proof of correspondence from Telkom or VVM with me regarding this cancellation and last amount due.

Reviewer Update
Since I have posted the review of Telkom, 15 March 2021, I received an SMS from Telkom SA on Wednesday 17 March indicating "Your query will be attended to. Your case number is ***7."
As background when I cancelled my line in 2020, I was informed that I will be notified what the last amount due would be. As I did not received it, I requested my balance on Tuesday 3 November 2020 via SMS and since then I received no reply until 17 March 2021 after I was threatened by VVM that "trace locator has been activated on your profile at CPB Credit Bureau". I then settled my account (as I wanted to do when I cancelled the line in 2020) and requested via email that VVM or Telkom submit a statement concluding this matter.
Yesterday, 18 March 2021, I received a statement from Telkom dated 18 March 2021 indicating they received my payment on 16 March 2021. This statement now shows that I have a credit of R45.07 for a line I have cancelled. Why did I need to pay the extra R45.07 if Telkom had to work out the final amount and even engaged with a debt collector to use "strong-arm tactics" to get their money?
This is just once again a clear indication that both Telkom and their debt collector VVM does not know what they do and how they deal with clients or that they are overcharging their clients and thus making some profit on this.
I am waiting in anticipation if I will receive another SMS or if somebody at Telkom will contact me and apologies for their total lack of efficiency.
