beware the Telkom suspension liability.

Telkom suspended my home landline account. According to one of their consultants they randomly select accounts which are in arrears, whether you are owing them R1 or R1000. Unknowingly, when your account is suspended, you are still liable for subscription and usage fees, even though you cannot use it, due to the suspension. Also, you cannot cancel the landline until the arrears is settled.

In my case, they failed to reconnect my line, but I paid for reconnection. Which would have allowed me to cancel the account. However, they now say they would reimburse me that portion, but will not reconnect me. Eish these people.
