Beware of Telkom offers, acept at your own peril.....

I ordered the Telkom advertised LTE service telephonically and was assured my property had good coverage. It was promised to be better and faster than the ADSL I had at present. When the modem arrived, I set it up and the connection was terrible, intermittent and extremely slow. I NEVER used it and packed it back in the box. I immediately called and tried to remedy this but there was no joy. (November 2016) Their technicians contacted me and were checking the telephone and ADSL lines. They did not understand it was an LTE problem. I then tried to cancel the service. Firstly, unsuccessful telephonically --- about 8 to10 calls? (It seems there is NO LTE department to go through to and all cancellations were translated as cancelling my ADSL service, which they tried to cut off 2 times ) I then started email correspondence and was communicating to an empty hole as NO -ONE responds, except to call and ask if they must cancel my ADSL line. I cannot see the similarity between the words ADSL and LTE, but they seem to not understand the difference. Twice, I physically visited the Telkom store in the Mall/ Somerset west. They could not seem to find an LTE department either, but assured me that they would deal with it and I would receive a n action call within 48 hours.. Yeh, Right- NOTHING happened. Further, the store refused to accept the modem back? Meanwhile I was being debited off my bank account for unknown amounts from Telkom. I returned these debits as unauthorised. NOW, a company called NuDebt has started action against me for an amount of R 3400 odd ( no idea how this amount is derived at as I have never received a bill ). Nu Debt sends you sms's that initially look like spam. I called them after numerous threatening sms's and spoke to a consultant. She said I should send in the cancelation emails etc. I did same with all the correspondence attached and a covering explanation, but got no answer. The next day I receive a notice to pay in 7 days or legal action will commence. I responded again, but like Telkom, there is NO response. I have NO idea what to do. SO I hope you will be more cautious when accepting Telkom offers as they have no systems to cope and offer client service when they are wrong ... They seem to want to bully one into paying for something you never received. As I am not financially capable of fighting them, nor is it worth it for such an amount.. BEWARE, all is NOT as advertised or promised and remedy is impossible!!! Matthew
