Betrayed by Telkom

During October 2019 I was phoned on my cell phone by 3 different ladies who offered Telkom's cableless Smart Voice. I was reluctant to make a decision as I hardly use my Telkom line, in fact only for international calls. So my ongoing question concerned Smart Voice 100 which offers 100 off net minutes: Would international calls be included? Each lady had to confirm the answer with a supervisor and each gave the same answer: YES. So I decided to go for this option, however only to find out that I had fallen for a *****ulous offer. From 17 November 2019 onwards every international call has been charged extra. My complaint at the Billing Department of 10210 seemed to be successful. I was told I had just to log in for international calls, I must phone their Technical Department at the same number and a technician would guide me through the logging in process step by step. Once I would be logged in I would be refunded for the international calls made. I got a reference number for the outstanding credit. When I tried to get through to a technician I was unsuccessful, the lady whom I eventually reached told me that there was no logging in necessary as my number was already logged in for international calls. She could not explain, though, why I had not been credited yet. The latest telephone account again included charges for international calls - needless to say that there was no credit. I phoned the Billing Department again and eventually got through to a supervisor who confirmed that international calls werde not included in the 100 off net minutes. Her reaction to my angry accusation: I must phone the Service Department, she worked for the Billing Department. I will cancel Smart Voice 100 as I was wrongly advised and feel betrayed by Telkom. I am shocked at the lack of trained Telkom personell who know their job and who try to rectify what has gone wrong. Giving a reference number and not honouring the promised service is just one of the pathetic examples of non-existing professionalism. One star out of five is one too many.
