Bedridden mother refused Telkom SIM Swop as she is expected to come into the shop and place her finger on biometric reader for identification

Beware of the following when signing up with Telkom Mobile. If you cell phone gets ****** and you become incapacitated you will not be able to ever carry out a SIM Swop and will never be able to have your number working again. This is because (According to the manager at the Telkom shop at the Bridge at Greenacres in Port Elizabeth) you need your finger biometric read for identification. My 82 year old mother finds herself in this predicament following surgery and is bedridden and cannot get to a Telkom Shop.
