Bad service when trying to cancel phone line

I sent through a signed phone line cancellations form on 22 May 2017. After some week or more a call centre agent calls me to confirm. Turns out I need to cancel my ADSL with my ISP first, to which I comp**** and at the end of June it was cancelled. The agent, however, told me I could just resend the cancellation request when done and it would be processed with immediate effect and there would be no further delays. On July 4 I resent the request and about 2 weeks later received a call from an agent again and they said that now a months notice is in effect.

Long story short the agent did not treat me like a customer during that phone call. I was mistreated and they were trying everything in their power to milk me for another months subs. The money is not that big a deal, however, it's the principal. Telkom knows I am cancelling my service and now they don't care.

However, I have news for them. I have a data contract with their mobile division and considered just a few weeks earlier porting my cell phone contract to Telkom since the contract expires in 2 months. However porting my number is off the table now and I will now soon also cancel my data contract and get that service elsewhere. I did not plan to cancel this until Telkom decided to treat me like a past customer.

Telkom needs to realise that yes their existing products like phone lines are dying and customers will cancel those services inevitably. However, they will look for new products in the future some which Telkom may offer, fibre or mobile voice and data etc. However, if you alienate your customers that cancel old redundant products you will not be considered for future products. By all means, milk me for another month I will pay for it but say good bye to my data contract soon. Do not prepare a welcome party for my mobile voice since I will not be porting over. And I won't consider you for fibre products either. And also alienating people means those people will not recommend you, or write reviews like this one.
