Bad service
Is Telkom now *****ing from its customers?
I recently took out two different contracts with Telkom. Last month, when I received my statement, I noticed my bill was higher than expected. After reviewing it, I found a subscription charge that I had never requested or authorized.
I contacted Telkom and was informed that the subscription had been added and that it would be cancelled. I accepted that explanation and expected the matter to be resolved.
To my surprise, this month's statement arrived with the exact same subscription charge still active.
I called again and spoke to Tefello Mokaiwa, who informed me that these subscription charges had allegedly been running since April last year. How is that possible when I only started using this number in March this year?
I requested that all subscription charges be disputed and reversed. I was assured that a dispute would be logged and that I would receive a reference number. No reference number was ever sent.
I then called back and spoke to Tebogo Mxunu, who was not only unhelpful but rudely asked me to explain to him how the subscription should be disputed. Since when is it the customer's responsibility to train Telkom staff on their own processes?
I am now left with serious questions:
- Why was a subscription added to my account without my consent? - Why was it not cancelled when requested? - Why am I being billed for services I did not authorize? - Why am I being told charges date back to before I even had the number? - Why is customer service unable to provide clear answers or follow through on commitments?
I am requesting that Telkom urgently investigate this matter, reverse all unauthorized charges, and provide a full explanation.
Customers should not have to fight to remove charges they never agreed to in the first place.
