Bad Service
I app**** for WiFi plus landline for Telkom in October 2016, and these were installed in the same month. However, the WiFi did not work and 3 or 4 different technicians came to my house to sort out the problem, but none of them could get it to work. That was the beginning of my woes with Telkom. The 1st debit order went off in November and then the 2nd one in December 2016. By then I had already cancelled the contract on the 22nd of December 2016. Despite repeated calls to Telkom to have the WiFi fixed, (including a visit to their Head Office in Centurion early this year – and being denied access by the Security) it all fell on deaf ears. From Jan 2016 till now, I have been hounded by different debt collectors, the latest being DC Fourie Attorneys. Unsuprised and unimpressed, the amounts claimed (via SMS and e-mails) differ: R4679-65| R5051.22| and an offer to pay the capital amount of R1817.20. How am I expected to pay for subscription services when the WiFi never worked from day one? I am happy to pay for the services of the landline and the calls which totals less than R100. But surely Telkom can offset these against the R1 600 I paid them via debit order and refund me the balance.
