Telkom so far has to be the worst service provider. It is not my first time I have written a complaint. First it was because of their insurance now my bill is ridiculous. I renewed my contract about 5 months ago. What I was paying at first was around R800 I don't know what happened but my bill just kept on going up and up. I know there were 2 instances where payments were missed but I always made sure I was up to date. For the past 3 months my bill went up to R3000 which is ridiculous. How can a bill for 2 phones that amount to 600 as per contract go up to R3000. Last month I queried and I I was told I that I am being charged twice for insurance for both phones which never came up when I upgraded and to top it off I was told I had limit for R500 on both phones which I never agreed upon, when upgrading the representative advised that she will change the whole limit thing to cents, I will top up. when you get to sign up you get told one thing and as time goes by you get another. This to me is just a ******* how do I go from paying 800 to paying close to 3000. My phones were quickly disconnected as I didn't have the money pay since I didn't sign up for that much, but then as always Telkom couldn't help me I had to make a payment for them to work again. A payment of 1500 was made last month around the 15th, the services were restored there was an amount of 992 remaining that had to be paid. What gets me angry is the automated debits that go off any time. On the 24th money was transfered into my account so that I can buy meds for my sick baby, but then Telkom just debited that remaining cash with no arrangement, I then had no money to buy for my sick baby I had to make other plans. With them taking money off my account they telling me it's still not reflecting on their records my account is in arrears. Again this month my bill is up to 2000. What am I really paying for here. The two phones I got were R299 each insurance is about 83 each how can that go up to 3000 max. I am seriously sick of this, I queried but I'm still having problems, I then advised that i got retrenched at work and no longer working its been two months now. I was told to bring my retrenchment letter to the branch for them to escalate, which I did but I haven't received any response from from anyone. Am I still gonna be stuck with 3000 bills that I cannot afford? No one is willing to help and if you call their call centre different people tell you different stories. I really need help with this matter as soon as possible.
