Telkom most certainly qualify for the following awards: Worst Company and Worst Client Service and my reason for that is below.

On 11 March 2016 I received a letter from Telkom to say that my fixed term internet agreement with them will expire on 9 June 2016. However they said that the agreement will continue on a month-to-month basis unless I give them 20 days notice before 9 June to terminate the service. They were also kind enough to say that I can alternatively sign for a new agreement at any Telkom Direct Store and they will give me a new free modem in return.

On 12 June I discovered that my internet was off and contacted Telkom to find out what the reason might be. I was then told by the internet assistant to contact the accounts department during office hours for my service was suspended. I then also discovered that my voice line was suspended as well.

On 13 June I contacted them and was told that an audit was place on my line. Nobody could provide a reason for the audit. I was put through to 4 other ladies but with no joy, explanations or answers. I was however promised that they will phone me back with a possible explanation. That same afternoon I phone once again with no joy after having spoken to another 5 ladies.

On 14 June I reveived a number of SMS's requesting me to rate the Telkom Service. I obviously gave them a bad review where-after they had the audacity to ask me why I am so upset about their service.

A week later I received a call from a Telkom lady wanting to find out the reason for me being that upset. I told the lady that I am driving and cannot take her call. We then agreed that I will take her call 30 minutes later once I have reached my destination. Needless to say that I am still awaiting her call.

I then visited the Tygervalley branch and spoke to Mr. Pentz about the whole debacle. He then requested me to complete a form in order to get this matter sorted. On 22 June I received another SMS requesting me to pay a deposit of R 700 in order for Telkom to install the service as requested. I again went to see Mr Pentz about this and he then sent Telkom an email in which they were requested to waiver the deposit and re-instate the service. I was also promised to get an answer from them within a week for which I am still waiting.

Best of all is the fact the original letter I received from the Senior Manager Commercial Operations was ended as follows: "We wish to assure you of our best intentions at all times."

Dear Rafeeqah
Thank you for the reply as per attached but it is still obvious that Telkom has no intention to better their Customer Service and/or Relationship with their customers for the above matter was reported and noted by you two days ago and as yet I haven't had any feedback.
