Automatic Subscriptions

I received an SMS from saying that I was subscribed to Cartoonxoxo at R3.00 per day.

I never subscribed and though this was a ****, after some reading realised this was legit and then unsubscribed.

Surely this is a breach of the consumer protection act. How can I be automatic subscribed to a service without my consent.
